Jaime da Cunha Branco is the Dean of the NOVA Medical School (NMS) at the NOVA University Lisbon, Portugal. 

Jaime Branco is full Professor of Medicine, with specialty in Rheumatology, and Director of the Rheumatology Department at the Hospital Center of Western Lisbon, Egas Moniz’s Hospital. 

Native of Lisbon graduated in Medicine on the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon, in the year 1978. 

Jaime Branco has been a Rheumatology hospital assistant since 1992 and Chief of Rheumatology Service since 1998, having assumed the position of Director of the Rheumatology Department of the Hospital Center of Western Lisbon, since 2006. 

He graduated from the NOVA Medical School at the NOVA University Lisbon in 1997, was hired as Assistant Invited Professor in 1999, performed aggregation proofs in 2003, was hired as an Associate Professor in 2007 and titled Full Professor in 2012. 

In 2013 Jaime Branco was elected Dean of NMS, being regent of the Curricular Units of Medicine I from 2011 to 2014; Medical-Surgical Specialties 1 since 2014; Introduction to Clinical Practice in 2014; and Pain since 2015. 

The projects and works in which he has participated have already received 43 diverse awards, of which the BIAL Prize of Clinical Medicine 2008 and BIAL Grand Prize of Medicine in 2016 stand out. 

Throughout his professional career, Jaime Branco has authored and co-authored hundreds of scientific publications, being Principal Investigator in the area of Rheumatology of CEDOC - Chronic Diseases Research Center of NMS, since 2009.
